POLYNUCLEOTIDE TREATMENT
We are very excited to introduce Polynucleotide treatments to RENU Clinic. PhilArt Polynucleotides are an injectable biostimulator aesthetic treatment designed to stimulate collagen and elastin in the skin, and typically used to address signs of ageing such as wrinkles, fine lines and sagging skin.
PhilArt Polynucleotides promotes hydration, promotes free radical scavenging and increases viability and number of fibroblasts which in turn trigger the body’s natural collagen production. This helps to improve skin structure and overall elasticity with reduction in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Polynucleotides also enhance the skins’ natural ability to retain moisture, resulting in a more hydrated and youthful appearance.

PhilArt is designed to condition the skin rather then volumize and produces amazing rejuvenating results. It can be used to treat the face, including neck, décolletage and the delicate eye area.

EYE TREATMENT (PHILART EYE)

PhilArt Eye Polynucleotides are specifically formulated for treating the delicate surrounding eye area to revive tired looking eyes, one of the first areas to show signs of ageing. Unlike dermal fillers, polynucleotides take their effect by stimulating the skins natural production of collagen rather than by adding volume. This means they do not have the same risks associated with dermal filler around the eyes.

FACE, NECK, DÉCOLLETAGE & HANDS TREATMENT (PHILART / PHILART NEXT)

PhilArt and PhilArt Next Polynucleotides are specifically formulated for treating the face, neck, décolletage and hands, to help improve skin structure and overall elasticity with reduction in the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and hydration for a more youthful appearance. Following consultation we will decide between the two products. PhilArt Next is typically used on more mature and dehydrated skin.

What area can be treated with polynucleotides?
Polynucleotides can be used to treat the face, neck, décolletage and hands. Used as a standalone therapy to improve the quality and lustre of the skin in younger patients as a preventative treatment and for more mature patients through improved skin structure and overall elasticity and remodelling skin areas with high fibrous content (striae and scars).
PhilArt Eye is a dedicated treatment specifically for the peri-orbital (surrounding eye) area to look more refreshed and less tired, addressing wrinkles, crows feet and tightening of the thin periocular skin.
How do Polynucleotides differ from Dermal Filler products?
Polynucleotides work by stimulating the natural production of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid within the skin, rather than injecting hyaluronic acid directly. This accounts for its excellent safety profile and allows it to be used in delicate areas such as the surrounding eye area, which is associated with complications from dermal filler treatment.
How are Polynucleotides made?
PhilArt polynucleotides are of natural origin derived from freshwater fish intended for human consumption. The European based production facility provides total control of the manufacturing chain ensuring the safety of its products through the unique high purification technology. In addition to this, over 70 years of research and 100+ published studies presented at national and international congresses support the safety and efficacy of polynucleotides. PhilArt polynucleotides have a proven efficacy supported by extensive clinical data.
What does the treatment involve?
Before Treatment
During the initial consultation at Renu Clinic, our medical practitioner will discuss your treatment expectations. After discussion of what you wish to achieve and assessment of your treatment needs, we will advise if Polynucleotides are a suitable treatment for you.
After a treatment plan has been agreed, and only once you are happy to proceed, you will be asked to read, understand and sign a consent form before the treatment can begin.
During Treatment
Polynucleotides are injected into the skin in small amounts using a very fine needle. Numbing cream can be used to make the procedure more comfortable.
The treatment is quick, typically taking about 30 minutes. Treatment with Polynucleotides does not affect facial expression.
After Treatment
Downtime following a treatment is minimal, and many clients are able to return straight to work. After Polynucleotides treatment some reactions might occur, these include; slight redness, swelling, itching, bruising, pain and tenderness. The reactions are generally mild to moderate and usually disappear shortly after injection. They typically resolve spontaneously within one or two days, although bruising can sometimes take a little longer.
How many treatments will I need?
A course usually consists of 3 treatments, 3-4 weeks apart. Results typically appear 4-6 weeks following treatment and increase over time as the treatment continues to stimulate production of collagen and elastin. A course of treatments may last up to 6-12 months, however this is different for every patient.
Are Polynucleotides suitable for everyone?
Polynucleotide treatment should not be used in or near areas where there is or has been skin disease, inflammation or skin related problems. Polynucleotide treatment has not been tested in pregnant or breast-feeding women and should not be used. Individuals with medical conditions that lower the body’s immune response or individuals undergoing therapy that is immunosuppressive may be more prone to infection by a skin injection procedure.
Is pain relief required?
Generally, pain relief is not necessary when injecting into the skin with PhilArt. Some people may experience the treatment as a mild discomfort. A local anaesthetic cream can be applied to the area for a more comfortable treatment experience.
Who will carry out my treatment?
Treatment with Polynucleotide and other injectable treatments, is still largely unregulated in the UK, allowing for wide variation in the qualifications and experience of practitioners, and the standard of treatment provided to patients.
At Renu Clinic any injectable treatment will always be carried out by Cheryl, our Medical Practitioner who is NMC registered. See below for more information about Cheryl.
